Privacy Policy

How Styxis handles email inquiries, language preferences, website operation data, and analytics information.

Styxis protects the rights and freedoms of data subjects and handles personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and related regulations.

This policy applies to the official Styxis website (styxis-io.com) and related service inquiries. The website does not currently operate contact forms, newsletter signups, or catalog request forms. Styxis only handles information that a visitor voluntarily provides through email inquiries, plus the limited technical data needed to operate the website.

1. Purposes of Processing Personal Information

Styxis processes personal information only within the scope necessary for the following purposes. If these purposes change, Styxis will take the required measures under applicable law, including obtaining separate consent when required.

  • Inquiry response and consultation:To respond to product inquiries, technical consultations, collaboration proposals, and other requests received by email.

  • Website operation and security:To provide the website, analyze errors, prevent unauthorized access, and review security logs.

  • Language preference:To remember the language selected by the visitor.

  • Statistics and performance improvement:To improve website quality using anonymized traffic and performance metrics.

  • Labs page operation:To retrieve public GitHub repository information and display open source project lists and details.

2. Categories of Personal Information Processed

Styxis does not operate direct personal information input forms on the website. The following information may be processed through email inquiries, website operation, language settings, and anonymized analytics.

  • Email inquiries:Email address, name, organization, contact details, inquiry details, and any other information the user includes in an email.

  • Operation and security logs:IP address, User-Agent, access time, request URL, error logs, and similar technical information required for service operation.

  • Language cookie:The styxis_locale cookie that stores the selected language.

  • Anonymized analytics and performance metrics:Visited pages, browser environment, performance measurements, and other statistics that do not directly identify a person.

  • Public GitHub information:Public repository names, README files, topics, licenses, public contributor profiles, and other information provided by the GitHub public API for Labs pages.

3. Retention and Use Period

  • Email inquiry information:Deleted without delay after the inquiry response and related follow-up are complete, unless retention is necessary for dispute handling, contract review, or legal compliance.

  • Language cookie:Stored for up to one year from the setting date and deleted when the user removes browser cookies.

  • Access logs and security records:Retained for the period necessary for website operation and security, or for the period required by applicable law.

  • Information processed by external services:Managed according to the retention policies of Vercel, Google, GitHub, and the scope of Styxis processing purposes.

4. Provision to Third Parties

Styxis does not provide personal information to third parties in principle. Personal information may be provided only when the data subject separately consents or when disclosure is required by law.

5. Processing Delegation and Overseas Processing

Styxis uses the following external services for website operation and inquiry handling. These services may be provided by overseas companies or processed on overseas infrastructure.

  • Vercel Inc.:Website hosting, deployment, log management, Vercel Analytics, and Speed Insights for anonymized statistics and performance measurement.

  • Google LLC:Receiving, storing, and replying to email inquiries through Gmail.

  • GitHub, Inc.:Retrieving and displaying public open source project information such as repositories, README files, and public contributors for Labs pages.

6. Destruction of Personal Information

  • Procedure:Styxis destroys personal information without delay when the retention period expires, the processing purpose is achieved, or deletion is requested by the data subject.

  • Electronic files:Deleted or removed from accounts and storage in a way that makes recovery or reproduction difficult.

  • Paper documents:If printed materials are created, they are shredded, incinerated, or otherwise destroyed so they cannot be reproduced.

7. Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives

Data subjects may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing at any time. Requests may be sent to the privacy contact email. Styxis will verify that the requester is the data subject or a legitimate representative and respond without undue delay.

A request may be restricted when another law requires retention of the information or otherwise limits the exercise of rights.

8. Security Measures

  • Administrative measures:Minimizing personnel with access to personal information and limiting the purpose and retention scope of inquiry information.

  • Technical measures:HTTPS communication, account access control, security features provided by external services, and restricted log access.

  • Physical measures:Avoiding unnecessary printed materials containing personal information and securely storing and destroying them when required.

9. Cookies and Automatic Collection Technologies

  • Language cookie:Styxis uses the styxis_locale cookie to remember the selected language. The cookie may be stored for up to one year.

  • Analytics and performance measurement:Styxis uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to review anonymized traffic statistics and performance metrics.

  • How to refuse:Users can block cookies or delete existing cookies in browser settings. Deleting cookies may reset the selected language.
